German "UKM" Are Interested To Investing In Indonesia

Jakarta-German companies which working in UKM see Indoenesia as alternative investment destination in Asia after global crisis hit the country's economic growth rate of investment objectives, the country is India and China.

Dirk Eilers, representatives of the German delegation of German-Singapore Business Forum, estimated investment of Germany will continue to increase despite the global economic slowdown.

"Indonesia high growth is very attractive when China and India knock on the issue because of the global economic crisis," he said in the event of the German-Singapore delegation Business Forum at BKPM building, Thursday (5/7).

Eilers said that German companies are very high interest in studying the potential and investment regulations in the healthcare technology sector, industry, precision machinery and environmental services in Indonesia. Deputy Chief Exekutive Spring Singapore Ted Tan said Entrepreneurs Indonesia, Singapore, and Germany have the opportunity to establish business cooperation are complementary.

He said Singapore could provide financial and business consulting services to help German companies apply technology skills in building  manufacturing industries utilizing the capacity of natural and human resources of Indonesia


"this German-Singapore Business's Forum is a biennial forum and now for the first time it was held involving the third countries, Indonesia.

Business Potential

Tan explains the small-medium enterprises delegation of Germany and Singapore will then be visited Batam to see the business potential in the area.

Singapore Chamber of Commerce Committee Chairman John Dermawan Hanafi said the chamber ready to provide information for foreign firms interested in establishing a company in Indonesia. "Chamber of Commerce will facilitate networking they need to look for business opportunities or partners of cooperation," he said.

He describes the growth of health care services industry in Indonesia is expected to grow 10-12% per year with the value of imports of medical equipment reached USS447 million in 2010.

In the precision machinery industry, he added, Indonesia needs investment and technological capabilities to support the growth of manufacturing industry.

As for the environmental services sector, Iwan advise German companies take opportunities in business of eco-tou-rism, clean and renewable technologies, architectures,  green insfratruktur and technology transfer to industry cutting-edge engineering. (Demis Rizky Gosta).
